Mailboxes at your current provider are analyzed first: sizes, folder structures and archiving needs. Migration runs via IMAP synchronization while the old system stays live, so no mail is lost during the switch.

Afterwards your backup and archiving policy is defined; you keep retroactive access against accidental deletion or legal requests.
